Literature Review of Family Function

Abstract
|

|
Family and family functioning is recently of interest to nurse. This research describes family functioning theory, instrument of family function assessment, relationship of family functioning to illness through literature review.
Six typical family functions are affection, security, identity, affiliation, socialization, controls, but today social institutions perform some aspects of them.
There are FACES (Olson et al.), Family Functioning Index (Pless and Satterwhite), Family APGAR, Family Assessment pleasure in family function assessment tools, Feetham Family Functioning Survey are more used to in nursing research.
Family function and illness have interrelationship, especially, in chronic disease, family role and function, family structure are changed.
Therefore we must care not only an individual as a client to restore a patient, but also family confronting to situational crisis of disease.
